European Cabinets worked with architect Tali Hardonag on this award-winning kitchen.
European Cabinets & Design Studios supplied cabinets for a kitchen remodeling project in a single-story mid-century modern home by architect Tali Hardonag. The original kitchen occupied a small, cramped space and the homeowner wanted to update the look of the room and open it up to let in more natural light. The completed project won a 2013 Meta Gold Award from the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.
Modern cabinets from Aran Cucine’s Terra collection and glass tiles replaced traditional oak cabinetry, while an island featuring a granite countertop and pendant lights define the galley-style kitchen and extend the open feeling in the room. All new appliances by Bosch completed the upgrade.
The project involved removing interior walls and swapping the dining and kitchen areas to create a light, airy space that compliments the structure of the house. A large beam across the vaulted ceiling replaced a load-bearing wall to subtly divide the kitchen and living areas, while a dropped ceiling over the entry extends to the dining room. Construction was completed by Chris Donatelli Builders.
